How the questions are made

The 3 Core subtests are generated, not stored: every task is freshly generated in the official format and checked by its generator before it is served.

  1. Figure Sequences. Passes a strict inferability check: the rule must be uniquely deducible.

  2. Mathematical Equations. Brute-forced to guarantee exactly one whole-number solution.

  3. Latin Squares. Verified so every valid completion agrees on the answer cell.

General Academic Module questions keep the official shape, four options with exactly one correct, and each one passes a validator before it ships.

Built with

  • TypeScript · Question-generation algorithms, built with Claude
  • Supabase · Backend with cross-device sync and leaderboards

Follow the marker

Four frames, one rule. Pick the cell the marker lands on next.

Where does the marker land in frame 5?

Loading today’s pattern…

A small puzzle I wrote for this page in the style of a figure sequence, not a CoreForge question: CoreForge’s own tasks are harder and timed. A new pattern every day, generated in your browser, and only shipped when every rule that fits the four frames agrees on the fifth.

Questions

What is the dMAT?

The digitaler Mastertest (dMAT) is an aptitude test that international applicants to German Master’s programmes may be asked to sit. g.a.s.t. and the TestDaF-Institut run it, with DAAD support. You sit the Core Module and one subject module in a single session of roughly 3.5 hours, break included; it is taken on a computer, in English, with single-choice answers.

Who has to sit it from SoSe 2027?

From the Summer Semester 2027 intake, India APS applicants whose previous degree is in Engineering, Commerce / Accounting / Finance / Economics, or Business / Management must take the dMAT with the General Academic Module. Bachelor’s and PhD applicants and officially confirmed exchange, partnership or double-degree students are not affected. The ‘Do I need the dMAT?’ checker matches your degree against APS India’s official list; confirm on aps-india.de before you act.

What is Brain Gym?

Forty short, seeded drills for the speed, attention, memory and reasoning the Core Module leans on, ten levels each. One round a day plays without an account, and the Free plan opens levels 1 to 3. It is practice-adjacent, not part of the exam.

Is there a Hindi explainer?

Yes. The ‘Do I need the dMAT?’ page has a Hindi summary (हिंदी में) of what the dMAT is, who has to sit it, what the paper covers, fees and registration, and scoring. The exam itself is sat in English.
